The City of Forrest City will host its 3rd Annual Health Fair on August 6th and is looking for healthcare vendors to participate.
The event is a great opportunity for healthcare providers, wellness organizations, and community resources to connect with residents, share important health information, and offer services that promote healthier living.

The Forrest City School Board will meet Thursday (6/18) at 5:30 p.m. at the Stewart Elementary School Library
The Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas will host food distributions on Thursday (6/18) at two locations St. Francis County, the Larry S. Bryant Wellness Center in Forrest City from 8-10 a.m. and Palestine City Hall from 9-11 a.m. Foods are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Bring your family and friends for an evening full of fun, food, music and fireworks, Thursday, July 2nd, from 6-9 p.m. at the Forrest City Sports Complex.
The event will feature lots of fun activities for the kids including rockwalls, a rope course, the power wheel ride and more.

Please share Lazy Boy in Forrest City, AR. Lazy Boy was dumped at Southern Furniture. After unsuccessfully trying to find him a home they brought him to the shelter. He is about 1 1/2 years old, and he weighs 44 pounds. This sweet dog is very submissive and loves people. He will be a terrific pet for a family with a secure yard for him to play in. Scholarship Deadline
The deadline for students to apply for the Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship, funded by the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL), is July 1. (Wynne Progress)
The Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship is available to Arkansas residents attending two-year or four-year in-state colleges and universities. Both traditional and non-traditional students are eligible.
Since 2009, the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery has funded more than 873,000 scholarships for Arkansas students with over $1.6 billion in proceeds from lottery ticket sales.
In addition to the Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship, ASL also funds the Arkansas Workforce Challenge Scholarship.
Students must apply for the Arkansas Workforce Challenge Scholarship at least 30 days prior to enrollment in an eligible workforce training program.

The Laborer is under the direct supervision of the Foreman and is responsible for providing manual labor in the assistance of other departmental workers in carrying out their functions.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in manual labor such as digging ditches, cleaning culverts, raking leaves, shoveling, and cutting weeds.
• May have to collect leaves and ride with crew on truck.
• Responsible to maintain all safety equipment and follow safety regulations.
• May assist in loading truck.
• Perform all other tasks as assigned.
PHYSICAL ABILITY
Must possess the ability to reach with hands and arms; and to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or crawl. Must be able to walk, sit, and stand. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds if necessary. Must be able to see.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, OR EDUCATION:
• Must be able to communicate with others.
• Must be able to use a chain saw, ditching shovel, pick, pitchfork, and other equipment as necessary.
