The Forrest City Verizon store will be hosting a “backpack giveaway” on July 28th at 1 p.m. at their location at 201 Deadrick Road in Forrest City. Verizon will be giving away backpacks filled with school supplies and books. The event will also feature lots of fun activities for the kids, including music and games, plus there’ll be food vendors on site. Children must be present to get the supplies. They invite you to participate by donating or receiving items. The drive aims to provide essential clothing for women during job interviews. They need gently used items that are aimed to promote professional attire. The St. Francis County Health Unit will be hosting a back-to-school immunization clinic on Tuesday, July 30th from 9:30 am until 6:00 pm at the Health Unit located at 413 North Division St. in Forrest City. Appointments are recommended. Call 870-633-1340.
Roper Outdoors will host a free youth fishing event, Saturday, August 3rd, from 9-11 a.m. at the Larry S. Bryant Sports Complex in Forrest City.
The event is geared for youth ages 3-15 and will feature food, music, prizes and lots of fun. Participants will need to bring their own rod & reel.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the event will conclude with awards presented at 11 a.m.
Catfish for the fishing event will be provided by the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission.

Rockefeller Institute Listening Session being held in Forrest City on July 25th
Civic Arkansas is an initiative by the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute to enhance civic health in Arkansas.
Objective: Gather feedback on community successes and barriers to civic engagement like voting, volunteering, and meetings.
Format: 90-minue session with opportunities for anonymous input, individual answers, and small group discussions.

Ms. Rodreya Powell is 15yrs old and missing. She has been missing since July 7th. Her family is needing help to locate her and to make sure she is safe. If you see Ms. Powell please notify the local police so we can return her home safe. Lets work together to help the family be whole again.

The Forrest City School District has scheduled their annual Back to School Fair for Saturday, Aug. 10, from 9 a.m. to 12-noon at the Dwight Lofton Mustang Arena.
Nominations are being accepted for the 2024 Forrest City Athletic Hall of Fame.

The Little Rock VA Regional Office will hold a Virtual Claims Clinic for Arkansas Veterans, July 25th from 4-6 p.m. During the clinic, Veterans may speak one-on-one with staff who are ready to assist with specific questions regarding claims for VA benefits. The Forrest City School District will hold 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 athletic physicals on Tuesday, July 23, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Forrest City Health & Wellness Clinic located at Central Elementary School.
The physicals are required for 𝗔𝗟𝗟 Fall and Spring athletes along with 𝗔𝗟𝗟 Mustang Marching Band members.
Please make sure to send the completed physical form with your student when they arrive.
