Applications are open for high school students who want to be part of the Clinton Presidential Center’s Student Presidential Leaders Series.
Fifty high school students — grades 9 through 12 — will be selected for the year-long program.
The program engages high school students to develop their leadership skills; explore the importance of inclusivity and civic participation; and learn how to turn their knowledge into action. It helps students build their capacity to be leaders.
The 2024-2025 group will spend the year attending in-person and virtual sessions, connecting with their peers from across the state, engaging with established leaders and learning how to make a meaningful difference.
The Derek Lewis Foundation supports the program, so there is no cost to participating students.
Applications are open through June 16. The first session, a weekend-long summer retreat, is scheduled for July 19-21.

Community Members,
I write to you today with a heart brimming with gratitude and pride as we reflect on the tremendous success of the Beech Grove Park Grand Reopening celebration. I extend my sincerest thanks to each and every one of you who contributed to this remarkable achievement in Forrest City.
The Saint Francis County Community Accelerator Team exemplifies the true spirit of collaboration and community dedication. Your unwavering commitment to fostering growth and progress has not only transformed our beloved Beech Grove Park but has also uplifted the entire community.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was a momentous occasion, symbolizing the culmination of countless hours of hard work and dedication. As the scissors sliced through the ribbon, the cheers echoed the shared excitement and pride felt by all who had contributed to this momentous achievement.
The celebration did not end there as the event day was a testament to the vibrant spirit of our community. Families streamed in, greeted by the sounds of laughter, the smell of freshly grilled food, and the sight of colorful balloons dancing in the breeze. Bonds were strengthened, friendships formed, and memories made as people mingled and explored our beautiful park.
I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the Saint Francis County Community Accelerator Team, the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas, the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture (UADA) Cooperative Extension Service, and all other organizations and individuals who played a pivotal role in making this dream a reality.
Together, we have proven that by working hand in hand, anything is possible. Beech Grove Park stands not only as a testament to our collective efforts but also as a beacon of inspiration for generations to come.

May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month. The Share Health Education Campaign includes 12 ready-to-distribute workplace newsletters and educational handouts for each month's health topics. The content has important health highlights, clinical screening recommendations (if applicable) current scientific/ medical guidelines relative to the topic as well as recipes and an interactive activity.
