The National Weather Service reports that dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 112 are possible.
Weather experts say that heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.
Residents are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

UPDATE: Search for Jack Montgomery
The Forrest City Police Department has an important update regarding the ongoing search for Jack Montgomery.
Jack was last seen entering the wooded area earlier this week. New information confirms that he was captured on video exiting the woods on Sunday at approximately 1:38 PM near Linden Road, walking towards South Washington.
We are continuing to investigate and follow up on all leads. If you have any information or may have seen Jack in the area around that time, please contact the Forrest City Police Department immediately at 870-633-3434.

USDA Drive-Thru Food Distributions will be held Thursday, August 21st at two locations in St. Francis County: Larry Bryant Wellness Center in Forrest City from 8-10 a.m. and at Palestine City Hall from 9-11 a.m. Recipients must live in St. Francis County and must meet income guidelines.

The national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign kicks off this Friday (8/15) and continues through Sept. 1 in an effort to stop impaired driving and prevent crashes over the Labor Day holiday.
