The City of Forrest City would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year! May this year bring you joy, health, and prosperity. Let's make 2025 a fantastic year together!

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Retired Captain Greg Gray, a dedicated member of the Forrest City Fire Department and a true advocate for the fire service. Captain Gray served our community with unwavering commitment for many years and continued his work on behalf of firefighters statewide through his involvement with the Arkansas State Firefighters Association. His efforts in securing important legislation to improve the safety and well-being of all firefighters will not be forgotten.
Please join me in paying tribute to a man who gave so much to our community and our state. Captain Greg Gray, you will be missed.
Mayor Larry S. Bryant

Law enforcement agencies across Arkansas are teaming for this year’s “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign. (Channel 4, Little Rock)
State Police officials say the high-visibility campaign kicked off Dec. 11 and will run through Jan. 1, 2025, to keep drunk drivers off Arkansas roadways.
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration figures show that alcohol-impaired driving continues to be a factor in fatal traffic crashes in the U.S., especially during the holidays.
During the months of December from 2018 to 2022, there were 4,759 people killed nationwide in alcohol-impaired crashes.
Statistics show that males and young people are at greatest risk for injury or fatality.
Officials advise that any driver who’s impaired should use one of the many choices for a safe ride home rather than risking a ticket or worse.

From Judge Craig Jones
Hello everyone, we believe lightning has struck the St Francis County Dispatch/911 Center. Most of the equipment has been affected and at the current time we cannot dispatch from our center. HOWEVER, emergency services are still active and are responding to emergencies. For the time being, when you call 911 the call is going to Cross County Dispatch and they are helping route our calls. We have several companies en route right now to correct the situation and find the cause. Sorry for the inconvenience and please know that we are working to resolve the problems and that if you dial 911 it will be answered.
