
Forrest City High School will host their annual College Night, Tuesday, September 9th at 6:30 p.m. at the high school cafeteria.
School officials say this exciting event will feature over 20 college, university and military representatives who will share information and answer questions about future opportunities.
The event is open to all Forrest City High School students, parents, guardians, and caregivers. Students in 11th- and 12th-grade are strongly encouraged to attend.

The St. Francis County Food Pantry in Forrest City will be closed Friday (8/29) and Monday (9/1) in observance of the Labor Day holiday. The pantry will reopen on Wednesday (9/3) at 8 a.m.

FC Woman Missing
A Forrest City woman has been reported missing.
The family of 54-year-old Brooke Beiber contacted Forrest City Police Wednesday afternoon (8/27), saying that Brooke had not been seen since August 17th.
Police say Ms. Beiber is a white female, with black hair, 5 feet tall and approximately 100 pounds.
She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a red spaghetti strap tank top and flip flops.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call Forrest City Police at 870-633-3434.

The entire Forrest City Public Works Department will be closed Monday (9/1) in observance of the Labor Day holiday.
Monday’s trash will be picked up on Tuesday, when normal business hours resume.
Residents are encouraged to place their garbage carts at the curb as they normally would the night before pickup is scheduled.

REMINDER: Garbage Cart Policy Enforcement Begins Sept. 1, 2025
Beginning September 1, 2025, residents may receive a ticket if their garbage cart is not pulled back from the curb on the same day as trash pickup. Violations could result in a ticket and a fine of $25 per day, plus court costs.
Per City Ordinance Sec. 11-5:
Garbage carts must be returned from the curb within 24 hours after pickup. On all other days, carts must be stored at least five (5) feet behind the front elevation of the home.
Carts left out after pickup can lead to:
• Spillage
• Animals getting into trash
• Neighborhood safety hazards
*Do not overfilled garbage carts
*Please break down all cardboard
*No metal or construction material are allowed

The National Weather Service reports that dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 112 are possible.
Weather experts say that heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.
Residents are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
