The Forrest City Public Works Department will be closed Thursday and Friday (Nov. 28-29) in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. The Sanitation Department will be running on Friday, and residents are asked to place their carts on the curb Thursday evening for collection. Normal business hours will resume on Monday, December 2nd. Thank you and have a wonderful holiday!

This Thanksgiving holiday, Arkansas law enforcement is teaming up with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the State’s Highway Safety Office on a high visibility Click It or Ticket seat belt awareness and enforcement campaign. Now through Dec. 1, Arkansas State Police Troopers, sheriff’s deputies and local police officers will be working together to reduce the number of fatalities that occur when motor vehicle passengers fail to buckle up by enforcing the state’s safety belt laws.

The 2024 Rumble on the Ridge will be held this week at the Dwight Lofton Mustang Arena on the campus of Forrest City High School. The Rumble will kick-off Wednesday (11/27) with Community Night beginning at 5 p.m. and will include a 3-Point Shootout, a Dunk Contest, entertainment by DJ Mike Brown and more. Tickets are $2 or a donation of a non-perishable food item to benefit the St. Francis County Food Pantry. Tournament games kick off Thursday at 3:30 p.m. The Mustangs will take the court at 6 p.m. when they face-off against the Lee High School Trojans. The girls’ tournament will begin Friday night starting with the Lady Mustangs taking the court at 6:30 p.m. against Jonesboro. Tickets can be purchased at Cedric Williams State Farm Insurance, the Forrest City Area Chamber of Commerce, online at RumbleOnTheRidgeFC.com, or at the door of the event. Tickets are $25 for a 3-day pass, $10 per day, and $8 per day for students, 12th grade and under.
