Hello again, the recycling dumpster that used to be at Vaccaro’s has been brought back and is now located at the road department/solid waste department in Madison, Arkansas. The gates are open from 8:00 to 3:00 on weekdays. We close them on the weekends. If you have paper, plastic or cardboard recyclables please feel free to take them to Madison. No common trash please, there is an 8 yards dumpster east of the courthouse that you can use for trash. We will keep this recycling dumpster at Madison as long as it’s used and not abused. Thank you for you time.

From Craig Jones Office
Hello everyone, we have a problem with SFC 107. Second Creek has risen and it now covers the road. Please avoid this area if possible. If you live north of Second Creek take a northern route to get home and if you live south of the creek take a southern route home. The road department is out putting up signs now and hopefully we will have some drier weather so the water can recede and we can see if there was any damage done. The water is over the road so please remember, “turn around, don’t drown”. Thank you and I’ll let you know more when I know more.

Update He has been found safely

School districts across Arkansas have until February 28 to apply to participate in the Farm to School Institute. (Arkansas News Service)
The yearlong program, through the department of agriculture, helps schools launch or expand their Farm to School programs.
Jessica Chapman, program coordinator with the state Department of Agriculture Farm to School Institute, said selected schools will bring a team to a summer retreat to devise a one-of-a-kind plan for their campus.
Each team will be paired with a coach and receive $1,000 to implement its plan.
Nearly 85% of schools in Arkansas are participating in at least one Farm to School activity. All schools can apply to be part of the institute.
Arkansas is one of only 16 states nationwide to offer the institute. Fifteen teams will be selected to participate.
The application is available at ARfarmtoschool.org.
